The Beach Shaggers Hall of Fame recognized William for his achievements in Shag dancing and named him a Keeper of the Dance. This is a prestigious title given to Shag dancers who will promote the dance to future generations.
Lani started taking Carolina Shag dance lessons as an adult. She then met William at a Shag dance event and it was love at first sight! Lani and William got married and have two young daughters that are learning the Carolina Shag. William taught Lani advanced techniques of dancing and made her into the dancer she is today. Together, they are top-ranking professional-level Shag dancers. They are active competitors in regional and national competitions. Their passion is to promote Shag and they hope that others will find joy through Shag dancing just as they did.
